ONS Prevalence Survey
The ONS estimates 1 in 600 people had the coronavirus in the week 6th to 12th June. This is lower than the previous week, where prevalence was 1 in 540.
Comment:
Graph 1 – ‘Cases’ are rising – really very high indeed!
Graph 1
Graph 2 – Positivity is rising fast.
Graph 2
Graph 3 – The number of newly tested individuals is rising steadily.
Graph 3
Graph 4 – Hospital occupancy (patients with a positive covid test) is now at around 10% of the delayed discharge number. Deaths are very low, averaging zero per day.
Graph 4
Graph 5 – This is just to show how positive tests have become totally divorced from hospitalisations – it’s just madness to use so many resources this way. This truly is a ‘casedemic’ now, and quite a severe one.
Graph 5
Graph 6 – This is the highest positivity rate we have seen on a Monday for a very long time, and this positive percentage seems to be climbing and in it for the long haul, it appears now.
Graph 6
Graph 7 – Splitting areas up into similar shaped curves of ‘cases’, as I did earlier in the year, you can see these three areas are still changing in sync. Glasgow continues to rise, and Ayrshire & Arran is reaching almost January levels. In summer!
Graph 8 – Lothian has risen absurdly high.
Graph 8
Graph 9 – Fife and Forth Valley still nicely synchronised! Steady upwards march.
Graph 9
Graph 10 – Borders, Dumfries & Galloway and Highland also rising subtly in sync.
Graph 10
Graph 11 – You can see while NHS testing has remained quite consistent, Community tests (in Lighthouse Labs) has been rising recently.
Graph 11
Graph 12 – I just made this up today. What a surprise! The more there are tests performed at the Lighthouse Labs, the higher the positivity rate goes!
Graph 12
Graph 13 – Hospital Occupancy. Greater Glasgow and Clyde has had greater occupancy recently and seems to be levelled off at this elevated occupancy. Other regions are either falling slowly or largely level and low for covid occupancy. If a region does not appear, it’s because it has fewer than 5 patients in the whole region with a positive covid test.
Graph 13
Graphs 14&15 – Vaccinations – Second doses are catching up with first doses, which indicates that there is a slowing in uptake of first doses. Second doses are also slowing.
Graphs 14&15
Graph 16 – ONS Prevalence survey shows a levelling off at this elevated infection rate. This, obviously, is not at all matched by the community testing results above.

I have completely lost track of what is going on now, deaths and hospitalisations are about as low as they are likely to get, especially if everyone in hospital for any reason is constantly tested, yet the positive tests keep rising. It might just be a coincidence but the day a delay is announced it was accompanied by the largest % of positive tests in months.
As I pointed out in a comment on last week’s figures is the fact that large numbers of people are being tested daily for the first time picking up lots of positives of people who actually had virus weeks or months ago and inflating figures?
It is difficult not to start thinking that test results are being manipulated in some way, possibly to encourage younger people who are undecided whether to get a ‘vaccine’ they almost certainly don’t need.
According to a FOI request Grampian region is running 45 cycles in PCR tests. This could cause case rises if other regions are doing similar .
I was just reading on the https://www.gov.scot/publications/coronavirus-covid-19-daily-data-for-scotland/ web page that 7,726 people have died in total. In December the death total was somewhere in 2,666 – I remember the dodge number. That’s 5,060 deaths since the not a proper vaccine roll out, attributed to covid or covid was on the death cert. Over a smaller amount of time, since the 2,666 number was from April – December; 9 months and the additional 5,060 deaths are over 6 months.
I’m gob smacked and flabber gasted.
Do you have any information regarding the PCR Ct rates? If over 25Ct many of the cases could be false. Also, how many of the positive cases being highlighted have involved the Lateral Flow kits, which have been withdrawn in the USA
Why have we seen no updates since June 21?
We have been ill – with Covid – in the house where the stats get done – one of us severely. And then we went on holiday. Back on it today!
